Practical information

When is the UICF? The festival will take place on Friday the 6th of April and Saturday the 7th of April 2018. Shows will be performed from around 7/8 pm ‘till late at night. The venue will be open at 5 pm for drinks, food and getting in the mood for some great comedy.

Where will UICF take place? At the top floor of TivoliVredenburg, a brand-spanking new concert hall with several stages and a great view over the city of Utrecht and conveniently located right next to Utrecht Central Station (the biggest train station of The Netherlands).

I don’t understand Dutch, will there be enough English speaking comedians performing? Yes, you will be able to bingewatch English comedians all night long.

Is there a good hotel nearby? Why yes there is! The NH Hotel Utrecht is a gorgeous hotel within walking distance of TivoliVredenburg with late check-out and a fantastic breakfast. It’s the place we warmly recommend. Which is also why we put up our comedians here! (And pssst…. we’ll have a limited deal on tickets for the UICF+stay in NH Utrecht. Keep an eye out for this deal on our website.)

What is the easiest way to travel to the venue TivoliVredenburg? Public transport is the best way to get to the festival. TivoliVredenburg is a ten minute walk from the biggest train station of the country: Utrecht Centraal. When you’re in Utrecht Centraal’s central hall take the exit to ‘Centrum’ and take a left once outside. Then follow the signs (or just ask anybody: they’ll point TivoliVredenburg out to you) because you’ll be 20 steps from the venue. Also, a bus stop (halte Vredenburg) is located right across the street. Plan your trip here.

What address do I use for navigation? Vredenburgkade 11, 3511 WC Utrecht.

Where can I park my car? Although we advise you not to travel to Utrecht city centre by car, there are several parking garages close by. Q-Park (La Vie) – Sint Jacobsstraat 1 is open 24/7 and within walking distance of TivoliVredenburg. Mind you: 4 hours of parking costs about €18,00 with a maximum of €30,00 per day. Not wheelchair accessible! Parkeergarage Paardenveld – Kroonstraat 9 Open 24/7 and within walking distance. 4 hours of parking costs about €11,20 with a maximum of €28,00 per day. Wheelchair accessible but not there have been some complaints about the difficulty of getting around.

Can I visit all the shows with my ticket or do I have to buy additional tickets for seperate shows? We have two types of tickets: day-tickets for 6 or 7 april and a passepartout for both days (April 6&7). With the passepartout you will have to show ID on entrance. With a valid ticket you’ll be able to get in and see as many shows as you like.

Is TivoliVredenburg wheelchair accessible? Yes, it is.

What if I get hungry? Laughing is a full-body exercise so of course there will be some food stalls around, to make sure you can grab a meal or snack before and during the festival.

How many shows can I see in one night? Shows are generally 45 minutes, so if you visit your first show around 8 pm, and really keep up the pace, you could see up to 4 shows. And maybe 5 if you get to a late night.

Is every show just one comedian or several? That differs. Some shows are one-woman or one-man shows, some will be line-up shows with up to three comedians.
