One of the highlights of last year, apart from all the wonderful comedy, was the magnificent food street on the festival square of the Utrecht International Comedy Festival. Here people could grab a delicious bite to eat and drink a refreshing cocktail whilst preparing for a night full of laughs. It was also a wonderful place where comedy fans could recover from all the hilarity with a tasty saté or crunchy panini. And it was a place where you could chat with your friends as you were enjoying a cold beer. The food street was such a succes that we couldn’t organise the festival this year without bringing it back. So we’ve found some of the best food trucks in town to drive all the way up to the top floor of TivoliVredenburg to provide you with tasty treats! Check out the different food trucks underneath and get ready for some good food and great comedy…
This truck takes you all the way to Indonesia and lets you experience some inventive cooking with the freshest ingredients prepared with some very old (and secret) family recipes. And of course, they serve saté and gado gado.
The empanadas from the Empanada Fabriek are packed tight with flavour and only the best ingredients. These spicy pastries are by far our favourite midnight snack of the whole food street.
Brandt & Levie
In the Houthaven in Amsterdam this sausagemaker has been delivering some top level Dutch charcuterie for the last five years. Brandt & Levie only uses quality pork from Dutch farms that take care of their animals. There’s a reason these guys are the official supplier of Dutch supermarket-chain Marqt. Brandt & Levie will be providing the UICF with some high quality hot dogs and dried sausages, which are the perfect accompaniment to a nice cold beer.
Organic, healthy and with a modern twist: chef Mohamed Mahraoui turns ordinary pita bread in some of the most ravishing and delicious finger food you’ll ever encounter. Don’t miss out on the tasty tajines, salads or soups either.
Indian food that will make your mouth water (and perhaps your eyes too). Spicy curries and fresh naans straight out of the tandoor oven will make our festival square smell like a little slice of Bombay. We can’t wait. Also the place to be for some scrumptious wraps.
